A Christmas Card with Friends

Today I held an informal workshop at home with a few of my friends to show them what I am doing as an Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator. As I haven't posted for a while (where does the time go....) I thought I would show you the card that they made.

 

To make this card you will need the following Stampin' Up supplies:

Stamp Set - Season of Joy, Basic Phrases & Best Yet

Ink - Chocolate Chip

Cardstock - Old Olive, Real Red Chocolate Chip, Whisper White

Accessories - 1/4" Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon, dimensionals, stamp-a-ma-jig, 1 3/8" circle punch, scallop circle punch, scallop edge punch

Everyone enjoyed making this card - they were very pleased (and maybe surprised) with the result.

Using Many Marvelous Markers

I had lots of fun playing with my Many Marvelous Markers when I got them. When creating the cards in today's post I have not used an ink pad. Rather, I used the markers to ink up only that portion of the stamp that I wanted to use, in the colours I wanted to use. (If you look at the candle in yesterday's post you will see the whole stamp that I used to create these cards).

This was so easy... and as the markers come in 48 colours (Bold Brights, Earth Elements, Rich Regals and Soft Subtles) you will have no problem finding the right colour ink for your project.

You will need the following Stampin' Up! supplies to create these these cards:

Stamp Set - Season of Joy
Ink - Real Red Marker, Old Olive Marker
DSP - Ski Slope (from the Spring Mini - only available until Nov 30th 2009)
Cardstock - Whisper White, Baja Breeze
Accessories - Dimensionals, 1 3.8" circle punch, 1 1/4" circle punch, scallop edge punch, 1/4" Real Red grosgrain ribbon

Not a Card.....

Here's a candle I've stamped (yes stamped.) on. I did this before I got my Many Marvelous Markers (see Idea Book & Catalogue page 127) so it's all the one colour. I'm going to have to go out now and buy another candle and do a more colourful version.

What have I been doing......

I haven't had a lot of time lately to "play" with my Stampin' Up product :( ...but I have a good reason.

I volunteer (a lot) of my time to JDRF - Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in Australia. My 12 year old daughter has TYPE 1 diabetes. I help raise funds for a cure by coordinating the Schools and Volunteer Network for Victoria and Tasmania for JDRF's annual May Jelly Baby Campaign.

We are in the process of approaching schools about the 2010 Campaign. It's very exciting as we are now approaching schools Australia wide. It's meant a bit of work for me..... sorting out who we are contacting and letters to be sent etc, but that's OK.... I really want to help find a cure. I can't imaging my beautiful little girl living with this horrible disease for the rest of her life.

Anyway.... I finished the first part of what I needed to do tonight.... so tomorrow I'll be back at my craft desk.

What to give as a Christmas Present.......?

I don't know about you but there is usually SOMEONE you have to buy for at Christmas (or birthdays for that matter) who you just don't know what to get. In these situations you may go for a Gift Card, which can seem a bit impersonal (even though you would buy an actual present if you knew what to get!)

Well, I know what you can do to make it "personal". Don't give the gift card in the holder that comes with it....... make your own and add that personal touch!
