AWH Colour Creations Showcase - Week 1: Balmy Blue

Well...... it's been a loooong time between posts, but as they say - better late than never! To help keep me on track, I aim to participate in every Art With Heart Colour Creations Showcase.

If you are not already aware there are 50 Stampin' Up Colours for us to explore, so come visit me and other members of the Art with Heart Team each Wednesday evening at 8pm to see what we have created.

Though organised in colour families, we will present each colour in alphabetical order. So for Week 1, please meet - Balmy Blue.

Prior to making this card I scrolled back through my prior posts (which didn't take long), and was again reminded how I love the partially cut die effect. See that post here.

I partially cut my Whisper White card base using a die from the Cherry Blossom Die Set and then embossed the front of the card with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder.

On a fresh piece of Whisper White I stamped flower and leaf images from the Forever Blossoms Stamp Set in Memento Ink. I then coloured the images using Stampin' Blends in Balmy Blue and and Old Olive (both Light and Dark). Don't you just love Stampin' Up! colour coordination. It is what drew me to the products originally back in 2009.

Again using the Cherry Blossom Die Set, I cut the (now beautifully coloured) flowers and leaf images and adhered them to the front of the card.

I popped a pearl embellishment  (Pearl Basic Jewels) in the center of each flower.

The greeting (from the same stamp set) is stamped in Memento Ink on Balmy Blue Cardstock and cut using one of the frames in the Ornate Frames Die Set. The greeting is slightly raised using Stampin' Dimensionals.

I adhered a base of Balmy Blue Cardstock to the inside of the card, (and then a Whisper White matt for writing on), so that a strip of Balmy Blue shows around the partially cut image when the card is closed.

A small flower and leaf was added to finish the inside of the card.

I hope you can drop by next week to see what the Art with Heart Team creates using Basic Gray.
