Why haven’t I been posting.......?

Slackness... that's really all I can say if I am completely honest........ pure and simple slackness.........

BUT I have been busy.....

Got a job in May – 5 days a week – bit of a shock to the system but it's nearly 3 months down the track now and I THINK I am used to it!

Went to Stampin' Up Convention in May

Crafted around a real MESS as my craft room was being built...... but if you have seen where I do my crafty thing you'll know that that is nothing new......!

And then all the usual things that go along with a house, hubby, 2 teenagers and 2 cats!

Enough complaining I hear you say.... show us a card! OK - here is one I made for one of the ladies at work to give to a family member who recently got married.......

I totally LOVE how Teneal Williams does the inside of her cards so I did the inside of this one.......

It's hard to see in the below photo, but there is actually a little pocket where you can put your gift of cheque or money ....

Hope to be back with some photos of my new craft room.

I haven't posted anything for quite a while, and unfortunately the thank you cards I am posting are for a sad time..........

Recently Kim's brother Jason passed away after losing a 4 year battle with cancer. I have made some cards for my mother-in-law to send to some of the special people in her life to says "thanks".... and I need around 16 for myself to send.

Here are 6 that I've made for my own use.....(I did two of each).....

This first one is probably very similar to many cards you may have seen floating around cyberspace.... using the Sale-a-bration Set "Punch Bunch" and the "2-step Owl Punch".

I've also used some brads and the 1 ¾" Circle and 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch. The pattern paper is "Woodland Walk" and the cardstock is "Crumb Cake", "Very Vanilla" and "Chocolate Chip".

This card was made using "Inspired by Nature" and the free hostess set "After Thoughts". I used "Regal Rose", "Rich Razzleberry" and "Whisper White" cardstock. Ink colours used are "Old Olive", "Rich Razzleberry", "Regal Rose" and "So Saffron". I didn't use the ink pads... I used my Markers so I could colour the flower image in different colours, and could colour only part of the greeting stamp (the greeting stamp actually says "Thanks I love being spoiled")

For this card I have used the "Every Moment" stamp set, inked in "Stazon" and then watercoloured in "Perfect Plum", "Concord Crush", "So Saffron" and "Soft Suede" using my ink pads. The card stock is "Perfect Plum" and "Concord Crush", and I've stamped on "Whisper White". The pattern paper is the "In Colour Pattern Stack" and Concord Crush Ribbon.

I've still got more to make, so hopefully I'll get these made and up here in the next few days.... oh – and I have picture of my renovation – MY CRAFT ROOM – to show you!

Vintage Butterfly

Here is another 3 x 3 card I've made....... using the Very Vintage Jumbo Wheel and the Beautiful Wings Embosslit Die.

I rolled the wheel in Elegant Eggplant, and used Elegant Eggplant, Perfect Plum and Whisper White Cardstock.

You can't see it very well in the photo but I used the Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint on the Butterfly. I mixed it with Rubbing Alcohol to make a "spray". The Colour Catcher came in very handy when spraying the butterfly!

I've also put a few Rhinestones on the butterfly.

A Thoughtful Thanks

I whipped up these little thank you cards for some lovely ladies who placed orders at a recent workshop.

The cards came together quite quickly and very easily.

Here's what I used:

"Style" with a bit of "Thought"

I recently made this card for my mum. The floral image is from Elements of Style and the greeting from Thoughts and Prayers.

Colours used are Pretty in Pink and Certainly Celery with a bit of Early Expresso thrown in.

As you can see from the second photo I also stamped the inside of the card with the floral image.

I’m Back....

Well finally I have got around to posting on my blog. Slack I know but.........at least I'm back.......

Here are a couple of cards I've made with one of my newer stamp sets - "Morning Cup". I love this set (yet another one!) and I think I'm going to have to get the coordinating wheel.

The first card is very simple.....

And for this one I masked the cup so I could place the teabag in the cup.

Sorry about the photographing - they are on a bit of a slant. Anyways....hope you like them....

Stamp Out Type 1 Diabetes

On Saturday we help our Stamp Out Diabetes Fundraiser to raise funds for a cure for TYPE 1 DIABETES.

My daughter Alisha was just thrilled – we raised $1,535 for her JDRF Walk team – "Alisha's Angels" so she is now only $900 short of her target.

Over 50 people attended. They made 5 papercraft projects, had a scrumptious afternoon tea and won door prizes & raffle prizes. Everyone enjoyed it so much we will most probably be holding the event again next year.

This fundraiser would not have been possible without the help of some very good stamping friends who I only got to know once I became a Stampin' Up! demonstrator. Marlene, Jodie, Joy and Tahnee are 4 very special ladies and I am so grateful to have them in my life!

A little bit of BLING........

I am absolutely wrapped with how this card turned out. It grew from a colour challenge posted by my upline, Claire Daly for members of her team.

The colours I have used are Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzazz, Baja Breeze, Poppy Parade and Blushing Bride.

The stamp set is Punch Potpourri - a Level 1 Hostess Set from the 2010-2011 Catalogue, so if you just have to have it – call me to book a workshop where you can earn it for free.

One great thing about this set is that each image has a coordinating punch. In the case of this card I have used the Boho Blossoms and Two-Step Bird punches. The other coordinating punches are Butterfly and Full Heart. All four punches retail for $33.95 each.

The sentiment is one of 24 greetings in the Teeny Tiny Sentiments stamp set.

I have also used the Big Shot and one of Stampin' Up!'s exclusive Dies - the Top Note Bigz Die which sells for $42.95, some 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon in Daffodil Delight and BLING...... Stampin' Up!'s new self adhesive Rhinestones.

Finally - a bit of daubering, the new Scallop Trim Border Punch ($30.95) and some Dimensionals have helped me make what I think is a really lovely card.

My Scrap Space

I'm a member of a Stamping Forum and some of the ladies on this forum have been posting pictures of their scrap spaces. A few have stated that theirs are too messy to show..... and Tan said she wants to see messy – so here is one VERY MESSY scrap space just for you Tan!

The photos have only been taken tonight so the light is not too good. And I must thank my daughter Alisha for taking the photos for me.... with HER camera!

My space doesn't always look like this.... but most of the time it does!

This is the view that greets you when you walk in our front door. (That's my hubby Kim playing COD on the left).

On the right against the wall is a whole lot of Jelly Baby stock that I need to get back to JDRF by the end of the month (Emily – I hope you are not looking at this.... but it is merchandise from Tassie and Colac that's why you haven't got it yet). There is also a box of "junk" from the study..... don't let me get started on that room!

This is my Desk – made by my lovely husband Kim......

This is the area to the right of my craft desk. There is meant to be a walkway through to the door to the pergola (behind the curtain) but more often than not it's full of "stuff". At the moment that "stuff" includes a whole lot of junk from Alisha's room destined for a friends garage sale.

This is the paper storage unit I bought for $40 from a scrap book store closing down sale.

I currently store my punches in this trolley which I got from Cosco.

This is my other shelving – also made by Kim. The wall panel and wire baskets were brought from the closing down sale I mentioned above.

So..... this is where I create...... and this is why we have decided to build a room above the garage just for me (though Kim says when I get sick of stamping and scraping he'll turn it into a games room with a pool table.... good luck with that !)

We have the plans, we have the permit.... Kim just needs to get his but into gear and get it built!

It's not that long till Christmas, so it's time to Stamp A Stack of Christmas cards.....

We will make 8 cards, 2 each of 4 designs using some of the products from the 2011 Stampin' Up! Catalogue. We'll be using the new "Contempo Christmas" stamp set, and some of the beautiful double sided DSP "Jolly Holiday".

I was surfing the net (again) looking at ....guess what.... cards and scrapping blogs ......and I came across this one – 365 Cards, where they post challenges EVERY DAY!

Today's challenge is - Keep It Simple - and as soon as I read it I knew EXACTLY which stamp set I would use if I took them up on the challenge....and I did. Here's my card:

I used one of the new Level 1 Hostess Stamp Sets- Birthday Bakery – which you can get for free with a qualifying workshop. I stamped an image and greeting in Black StazOn on Whisper White cardstock and coloured bits of the image using my Blender Pen and all of the new In Colours – Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzazz, Peach Parfait, Concord Crush and Poppy Parade. The card base is Poppy Parade and I've also used a strip of Pear Pizzazz.

Just Add Ink have a challenge this week to "Just Add Sympathy". Here's my entry:

I've used the Thoughts and Prayers stamp set, and some torn paper from the new DSP – Love Letters. I've also punch a circle from the same DSP using the 1/2" Circle Punchand a "Build a Brad" to make the brad.

A very simple card..... quickly put together wth one stamp, a brad, paper and ribbon.

A “Thank You” Printed Petal

I was thinking the other day that the launching of a brand new catalogue deserves something a little different........so my thank you cards for orders delivered during September are not going to be cards....they are....... Thank You Bookmarks. Here is a picture of some of them.....

I've used one of the new stamp sets from the 2011 IB&C that I got at Convention back in May. It's called Printed Petals and you'll find it on page 74. It retails for $34.95.

I've inked the image with Tempting Turquoise and stamped it on some Whisper White cardstock. I only just bought this ink pad and I just love it. It's so bright and has a real summery feel – don't you think? It makes me think of clear blue skies on a hot summer's day.

The flowers have been punched out with a square punch and layered on a strip of Melon Mambo which has just the right vibrancy to coordinate beautifully with Tempting Turquoise. A bit of Tempting Turquoise ¼" Grosgrain Ribbon and there you have it – A fun bookmark to use on those lazy days over summer when you're lying in the sun (with suntan lotion on of course), reading a good book. Ahhhh.... BLISS!

You'll be please to know that Whisper White and Very Vanilla cardstock is still available in packs of 40 A4 sheets. The pack costs $15.95 which equates to 40 cents per A4 sheet. Coloured Cardstock can be purchased in "Colour Collections" or "Individual Colours".

Colour Collection Cardstock: 20 sheets x A4 (2 of 10 colours) for $13.95 which is just 70 cents per A4 sheet.

Individual Colour Cardstock: 24 sheets x A4 (single colour) for $13.95 which is only 58 cents per A4 sheet – even better value!

A Scallop Circle Flower......

I've seen many of these flowers in Blogland and have been meaning to make some for a while now. So for my Thankyou Cards for August orders I've whipped up a few in Riding Hood Red. I've teamed them with Not Quite Navy and Very Vanilla – a colour combination which I think is quite striking. What do you think?

All you need to make these flowers is a Scallop Circle Punch and a Crimper – both of which you can get from Stampin' Up!

I've used two stamp sets for this card, both of which are in the Autumn Winter Mini which runs til the end of this month - Teeny Tiny Sentiments (page 24) and Vintage Vogue (page 16). The Large Oval Punch and Scallop Oval Punch frame the greeting nicely. Riding Hood Red and Not Quite Navy ink (to coordinate with our cardstock of course) and a bit of bling (Clear Rhinestone Brad in the flower) and it's done!

Helping Hudson..... a WHEELY great cause!

It's true when they say that a little goes a long way, and I'm here to tell you about how a simple purchase of some fun -filled paper craft tutorials can give freedom to a little boy!

Hudson is 2 ½ but unlike most children his age, he has had a tough little life! Doctors realised he had an incomplete brain before he was born and as a newborn he was discovered to be legally blind. Hudson has recently been diagnosed with both Cerebral Palsy and Epilepsy! His mobility has been hindered severely by his disabilities; however his family and friends wish nothing more than to give him the chance to get moving on his own. Hudson needs a special Wheelchair/Walker, called a Kid Walker. This device will help get him mobile, allow him to play with his brother and sister, interact with other children his own age and give him independence in his day to day life!

This is where the stamping world really comes into play! When a group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators are asked for help they come to the rescue, ink and paper in hand, to work miracles. This is what has happened around Hudson over the last few months. First with his mum's direct team, and then spreading out across Australia and New Zealand and over in to the US, the UK and Canada! His story has touched so many people so it's time to share it with you all!

There is a HUGE online stamping event taking place, called Helping Hudson -A Wheely Great Cause! The organisers have been working really hard, securing support, tutorials and donations to get this event underway. There are going to be three weeks of stamping fun for you to join in – come back as often as you can, there will always be lots more to see, do and learn. Raspberry Tart and Chocolate.........

Mmmmm..... sound yummy doesn't it. Does it look yummy too?

I made this last night for a friend – Dawn. A few of us were going out for lunch today to celebrate her birthday but wouldn't you know it – I have a sickie home with me so I can't go. Luckily a few of the girls are dropping by on the way to lunch to pick it up and give to Dawn for me.

It's a matchbox, made in Regal Rose. The outer sleeve is covered in Raspberry Tart. I really love this Stampin' Up! DSP – I love the colours and will be very sad to see it go come 1st September when our new Catalogue comes out. But at the same time I am so excited to know that there will be NEW pattern paper to play with!

And guess what's inside this little matchbox......yes CHOCOLATE! (I sort of gave it away with the blog title didn't I!)

They are actually 3 Hershey Nuggets wrapped in Raspberry Tart. These nuggets areoften mentioned on American SU Demonstrator blogs, and I didn't think you could get Hersheys in Australia. But I went to Cosco yesterday for the very first time with a friend who is a member (thanks Leanne!) and they were there. I just HAD to get some!

I then created a miniature Easel Card to attach to the matchbox. I have seen this idea on many blogs during my cyber travels..... can't really attribute the idea to any one person, though I did get the template for the matchbox here from Beth Warner. Isn't this just a cute little prese!

Chalkboard Technique using Stampin’ Pastels

This month our Art with Heart Team Forum Technique Challenge is to make something using the Chalkboard Technique.

I looked at the suggested video by Dawn Griffiths. I think I had seen it before. I just LOVE Dawn. She is the person that first introduced me to Stampin' Up! (via the interent). Here is the link to her video.

Anyway – I hadn't actually tried this technique.....so please take that into consideration when looking at the two cards below. I used the Pick a Petal and Vintage Vogue stamp sets, Whisper White Craft Ink and of course, my Stampin' Pastels.

For this one, I don't think I had quite enough ink on my stamp..... and I think it's a pretty plain card, but then I was focusing on the technique....(please excuse the slant of the card - it is straight... it's what the card is resting on that is a problem. I really need to do something about setting up a good place to take photos of wha I make!)

I much prefer my second card, even though the colours aren't nearly as vibrant as the first. The detailed stamp design meant it was difficult to rub out the chalk around the stamped image, so I ended up rubbing it out all over..... and I was quite happy with the effect.

This was an easy technique, but the rubbing out was a bit time consuming..... but when you get in that crafting zone you don't really notice the time do you?

Butterfly Punch meets Very Vintage

I felt like playing with my Butterfly Punch yesterday so with it and a few supplied I came up with this:

I really love how inking the edges softens the tone of both plain and patterned cardstock. Originally when I put this card together I didn't ink the DSP or the Baja Breeze cardstock – but it looked too stark, too harsh. So I got out my Sponge Dauber and my Chocolate Chip Ink Pad and lightly daubered the edge of both the DSP and cardstock.... and can you see the little bit of Dazzling Diamonds on the butterfly.......

A Challenge

Well..... for the first time ever I am taking part in a Just Add Ink Challenge. This week the challenge is to use the following colour combination:

I did a thank you card as I recently had my hair done – a real makeover – shorter and PURPLE....(who knows I may even get around to taking a photo and finally putting a photo of myself up here on my blog!) I have had so many compliments (even from males) that I just had to make a card to send to my hairdresser to say "thank you.... I LOVE MY HAIR!"

To make this card I've used Teeny Tiny Sentiments from the current Autumn Winter Mini - it has so many different sentiments, most of which you can use with the word Window Punch (just love that punch!) I've also used Echoes of Kindness – a level 2 hostess set, some ribbon and brads

I made a matching envelope as the card is 4" x 4" and even stamped inside the card.

A Ruby Red Thank You.....

I had a workshop yesterday morning at our local basketball stadium with some basketball mums whilst our kids trained for 1 ½ hours (yes – that's how long they train for when they play "Rep" basketball). I asked whether we could use a meeting room instead of just getting together in the kiosk area and was told we could so I thought I would make a thank you card to express my appreciation.

I used the colours of Ruby Red, Basic Black and Whisper White as our team colours are red, black and white.

I stamped the gratitude definition from "Life Definitions" (lots of useable definitions in this set – great for scrap booking pages as well as cards) and I used "Eastern Blooms" for the flower which I stamped in "VersaMark"& "Ruby Red" and then clear embossed. I didn't have any Ruby Red Ribbon so I used my "Ruby Red Marker" to colour some "Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon". After decorating a white paper insert my card was ready....... (sorry about the photography!)

Long time no hear.....

Yes – it's been an incredibly long time between posts.... and it's not like I haven't been creating – I have. But you know..... sometimes life gets in the way and other things must come first. In this case it is the fundraising I do for JDRF with their Jelly Baby Campaign. When we are in the thick of it it's a full time job!

Forum Challenge

I have made cards for a couple of the monthly Art with Heart team forum challenges.

For the Colour Challenge (Pink & Grey) I have used Whisper White, Pixie Pink and Going Gray cardstock and Basic Grey DSP. The stamps - Teeny Tiny Sentiments and Vintage Vogue - and die from the Lots of Tags Die - are all from the new Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue.

It doesn't show up very well in my photos but the flower centres all have a bit of Dazzling Diamonds

The second card is based on a sketch:

I have used the Movers and Shapers Die and the Curly Label Punch. The card base is Blush Blossom and I've clear embossed Ruby Red cardstock that I've rolled using the Very Vintage Jumbo Wheel and Ruby Red Ink. The greeting is from the Level 1 Hostess Set – Best Yet. A couple of Mellow Moss strips and it's done!

Happy Birthday Emily......

A JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) friend - Emily - has just turned 30 and had the big 30^th birthday party on Saturday. Kim and I were unable to attend but I made her a card that she should have received in Friday's mail. But I had the number of her unit wrong.... so she'd didn't actually get it until last night! (I am so thankful to Australia Post for getting it there!!!) It's now safe to show it to you all - I didn't want to post it here until Emily had seen it first in the "flesh".

I used two stamp sets - Cottage Garden from the new mini and Priceless (which my upline Claire has let me borrow - Thanks Claire!). The coordinating DSP paper Cottage Wall was a no brainer as was the coordinating Ink in Rich Razzleberry and Orchid Opulence. I used Old Olive for the card base and jazzed it up a bit with the Rich Razzleberry Polka-Dot Ribbon and a tab made with the Curly Label Punch.

It's the first time I've made a card like this – it's called a Criss-Cross Card and the inset pulls out. That's where you write your greeting. It's so cute and fits in a standard sized envelope.

A fun time with the Big Shot

On Tuesday I had a few of my hostesses over to have a look at some of the new products from the Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue, which is just jam packed with lots of new product which I just know you are going to fall in love with.

We had a couple of hours of crafting, coffee and chocolate...and a few laughs. It was a very enjoyable way to spend a Tuesday.

These are three projects that they were able to make:

A cute little gift bag made with the Big Shot and the Top Note and Movers & Shapers Curly Label Dies and the Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. All three are exclusive to Stampin' Up!.

And you know one of the best features of the Curly Label Die - it coordinates with the Cute & Curly Punch Bundle. Good thinking Stampin' Up!

The bag was made from Melon Mambo cardstock, one of the new In Colours. Of course we just had to use the Melon Mambo Classic Stampin' Ink Pad and Polka-Dot Ribbon too.

We used the Very Vintage Jumbo Wheel for the background and the large flower from Vintage Vogue and one large Clear Rhinestone Brad. I gave each lady a small empty cello bag to use with their gift bag once they decided who they were going to give it to. The gift will show through the curly window of the bag. How cute is that!

This was a VERY simple small gift card using the new Extra Large Two-Step Bird Punch, which at $30.95 is a steal! When you punch your paper you actually end up with 3 images, so you can mix and match paper colours and textures to suit. You could even use the images separately.

We used Basic Black for the bird and inked the edge of its wing with Whisper White and adhered it with a Stampin' Dimensional. And yes - you are correct - we have used Melon Mambo again..... Don't you just love that colour!

This card was made using the Cottage Wall DSP and Rich Razzleberry Cardstock. The Inks were in Old Olive, Orchid Opulence and the new Rich Razzleberry. The greeting was stamped with Heard from the Heart and the flower with Cottage Garden (which coordinates with the Cottage Wall DSP and Flower Fantasy Printed Window Sheets)

All the stamp sets we used were the new Clear Mount stamps. Made it VERY easy to see where we were stamping and still produced the great sharp image that you expect from Stampin' Up!.

A New Mini

Just so you know......

I am still alive and kicking.... barely..... did some damage to my ribs last week playing basketball. Extremely painful, especially when I sneeze, cough, laugh or breathe deeply. I had an x-ray and they are not broken, however the doctor cannot rule out a hairline fracture. Bruised or fractured.... it really doesn't matter there is no treatment..... and either way it will apparently take some weeks until I am back to normal.

Anyway - that's not why I haven't posted lately... it's because it's JELLY BABY TIME. That's right, JDRF is gearing up for the 2010 Jelly Baby Campaign which raises funds for research for a cure for TYPE 1 DIABETES which my daughter Alisha has. I help coordinate the Schools and Volunteers program here in Victoria and in Tasmania with the help of a small (there are 4 of us) group of very dedicated and passionate mums. So I have been busy preparing letters, forms, flyers, fielding phone calls, faxes, and many emails from those schools and supporters who are happy to take part in the campaign this year.

During May - if you go to Amcal or Safeway/Woolworths, please don't walk past the Jelly Baby themed merchandise without buying something.... and if merchandise is sold at your place of work or child's school - please buy some. May be you could sell some at your work - if you are interested, send me an email (see left) to find out more.

I am VERY excited about what's happening in the stampin' world next week - a new mini. That's right - the Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue comes out on April 1st. Given the Easter break, I won't be posting again until April 6th, but tune in then to view the Catalogue online.

I made two cards last night for some of the March challenges on the Art with Heart demonstrator team forum.

The colour challenge revolved around white, black, grey and yellow. This is what I came up with:

Chalks & Blender Pens

At one of my workshops this month, a couple of ladies purchased the Stampin' Pastels and Blender Pens, amongst other goodies. I've also had many customers choose the Whimisical Words Sale-a-bration stamp set as their "freebie" . So I thought I'd make a card sing these and Fun and Fast Notes - a stamp set which hasn't had that much time on my craft desk. This is what I came up with.

I've used Kraft and Not Quite Navy Cardstock and Bella Bleu DSP. The greetng from the SAB Whimisical Word stamp set punched out nicely with the 1 3/8" circle punch, which I then mounted on a punched scallop circle. I really do LOVE the way Stampin' Up! punches can be used with MANY stamp sets....

The Stampin' Pastel colours I've used on the cake image are Not Quite Navy, Rose Red, Elegant Eggplant and Garden Green. I applied these with a Blender Pen. The greeting was inked with Not Quite Navy and Rose Red markers.

A little bit of Kraft Taffeta Ribbon and it was done!

I must apologise for the long delay between posts. Things have been very busy around here. I've had quite a few workshops to prepare for and I've been doing my Jelly Baby volunteer work (I help JDRF with their Jelly Baby Campaign which raises money for type 1 diabetes research here in Australia. My daughter Alisha has type 1 diabetes and I want to do my bit to help find a cure).

Sympathy Cards

I was only talking earlier today to a couple of my customers about Sympathy Cards. They are not a card I really think of making until I need one. And now I need one.

You may have seen in the paper or heard on the news about the death of a young university student. It was one of my husband's (Kim's) relatives - his cousin's son. He died early this morning after falling down a stairwell at uni.

It was not that long ago that the family was left numb by the tragic death of one of Kim's cousins. She was killed in a bicycle accident in the city.

Two young lives losts, and with them, all their hopes and dreams.

Only my son Troy was was home when I found out - I went and gave him a huge cuddle. I don't know what I'd do if I were to lose either of my two children. I just don't know how parents cope in times like this.

I've made my sympathy card - didn't have any "sympathy" stamps - I guess they're not cards I like to think of making. But I made do with what I did have......

Bright & Beautiful

I really enjoyed making this card for a team collour challenge.

I used the Happy Moments SAB set which I am really loving. It is one of the sets that you can choose for FREE during Sale-a-bration if you purchase $100 on SU! product or host a workshop with qualifying sales of at least $600. The Sale-a-bration stamps are limited edition sets, and are only available until 31st March 2010.

I really like the bright bold combination of Pink Passion, Tempting Turquoise and Kiwi Kiss card stock that I've used. I coloured the image with my Stampin' Pastels (chalk) using a blender pen. The Stampin' Pastels are a great way to get all of the 4 colour families straight away, whilst building up your supply of ink pads and markers. They sell for $48.95 and can be found on page 127 of the IB&C.

The ribbon, to which I attached 3 Circle Ice Rhinestone Brads, is Ribbon Originals - Pigtails.... it's in the IB&C on page 150.

This card is a great example of how easy it is to bring a project together using Stampin' Up! product. Everything COORDINATES beautifully! It's one of the aspects I love most about Stampin' Up! products.

As an aside - we got 3 new foster kittens today to look after until they are well enough to be desexed and adopted. Brings the total number we have fostered during the last 3 years to around 50 I think.

Another Eyelet Border Card

I've got another card made using the eyelet boder punch for you to see. I'm really pleased with it..... I used the SU watercolour paper for flower. I stamped the flower (Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set) with Staz On Black Ink and coloured the flower using my Taken with Teal Marker and my SU Aqua Painter. I think the Kraft and Taken with Teal card stock look great together. What do you think?

Eyelet Border Punch

For one of my upcoming workshops, the lovely hostess - Wendy - has asked that I use the Eyelet Border Punch. As I don't own the punch I asked my up line - Claire Daly - if I could borrow hers. She very kindly let me borrow the punch (thanks Claire) for a couple of days so I could "play" and come up with a card for Wendy's workshop.

Well.... I'm going to have to put the Eyelet Border Punch on my next order...... I LOVE it - it is SO versatile. Have a peek below at the various "looks" I came up with.

This is a "2" card - it uses:

2 card stock colours - Whisper White and Basic Black

2 ink colours - again Whisper White and Basic Black

2 stamp sets - Live Like You Mean It (Hostess Set ) and Fifth Avenue Floral

2 cutting tools - Paper Snips and Eyelet Border Punch

This card was made using Basic Black ,Whisper White and Lovely Lilac card stock. I used 2 stamp sets - "Basic Phrases" (IB&C) and "For Everything" (Summer Mini).

I stamped the flower image and greeting using my Certainly Celery and Lovely Lilac Markers. I was VERY thankful that I had my Stamp-a-ma-jig, as it helped me put the flower in the correct spot on top of the stem. I would be lost without my Stamp-a-ma-jig - it's definitely $22.95 well spent. (page 155 IB&C).

The ribbon is Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon .

I used 2 punches - obviously the Eyelet Border Punch, but also the Curly Label Punch which you can only purchase as part of the Curly Label Punch Bundle. For $65.96, you not only get the punch, but also 4 coordinating stamps. (page 153 IB&C).

This card was a CASE (Copy And Share Everything) of a card I saw at Claire's when I borrowed her punch. I used one of the current "In Colours" - Kiwi Kiss, as well as Real Red, Bashful Blue and Whisper White (don't you just love the names that SU gives it's colours!).

The stamp sets are Fifth Avenue Floral and one of the four SAB (Sale-a-bration) stamp sets - Vintage Labels. You can only get SAB stamp sets through the Sale-a-bration promotion that lasts until 31st March 2010. You can choose a set FOR FREE when you spend $100 on SU product, or host a workshop with sales of at least $600. If you are interested give me a call (03 9727 3992).

I've also used the standard wheel "lluminated" also borrowed from Claire (thanks again!).

Of Course, the Eyelet Border Punch got another work out - and I also used the Scallop Square Punch.

Rose Red card stock and ink - I just love this colour.... it's one of my (many) favourites. I simply added some Whisper White and Apricot Appeal card stock and some DSP (pattern paper) in Apricot Appeal(punched with the Scallop Circle Punch to make the "icing"). This DSP is only available as a Hostess Gift with qualifying workshop sales. You actually get 60 sheets of 6" x 6" DSP in 5 colours (Regal Rose, Apricot Appeal, Brocade Blue, Basic Grey and Garden Green).

I used the Big Bold Birthday stamp set to stamp the cake and the greeting. The greeting was punch with the Word Window Punch.

This card uses the "For Everything" and "Butterfly Prints" stamp sets, and the coordinating Butterfly Punch all three of which are in the Summer Mini Catalogue. If you want either of these stamp sets or the Butterfly Punch then you need to be quick as the Summer Mini Catalogue finishes on 31st March 2010.

The two colours used are Very Vanilla and Cameo Coral.

It's pretty......in pink

Well - I took the idea from yesterday and ran with it.... all the way to my Pretty in Pink cardstock and ink pad. I added some Whisper White, some brads and chalks and came up with.......

A little bit of inspiration.......

Today I've made a card, the inspiration for which came from one of the members of the Art with Heart team, Christine Blain (you can see Christine's card here). I love how she used white ink on Kraft for her flowers, so I thought I'd try it using one of my relatively new stamp sets - "Fifth Avenue Floral" and some of the georgous Real Red Polka-Dot Ribbon that's in the current Summer Mini. (If you'd like to add this ribbon to your stash don't forget that the Summer Mini Catalogue finishes on 31st March 2010).

This is the card I came up with. I've embossed the background using VersaMark and clear embossing powder. I also embossed a clear flower on the inside of the card. You can just see this in the second photo. I think you could make some really pretty backgrounds with this stamp set, in versamark, which gives a watermark effect, or even in tone on tone - for example stamped in pretty in pink on pretty in pink cardstock..... hmmm might have to try that next!

The flower on my card is raised with dimensionals, and really should have been stamped on watercolour paper, but I don't have any yet in my stash. (I ordered some yesterday so I can't wait til it arrives and I can get into some watercolouring)

Easle Card..... equates to Easy Card

hope you are having a fabulous Friday. I am. I had breakfast with my scrapping friends so we could work out our scrapping schedule for the term, and then I came home and surfed the net, looking at blogs I love.

I was so inspired by Dawn Griffith's Easle Card that I made one straight away. This card was dead easy to make...... and when it is "displayed" it looks SO different from your standard everyday card. You can check out Dawn's blog here. I look at it all the time - I think she's great and so inspirational!

Where on earth have I been.......?

Well, it's certainly been a long time between posts hasn't it!!

Firstly - Happy New Year ! I hope you had a great Christmas with family and friends. For those of you who had, or are still on holidays.... hope you enjoyed/are enjoying them.

I've been down in Tasmania for most of January. Kim (hubby), and kids (Troy and Alisha) and I went on the Spirit of Tasmania (complete with car and caravan) on the 3rd January..... smooth sailing I am happy to say. We spent the next 2 1/2 weeks travelling around Tassie and got back on the 20th. Within 5 hours of arriving home from Tassie we collected 2 kittens and their mum from Animal Aid in Coldstream. We will foster these 3 very scrawny felines until they are well enough to be adopted.

Then it was straight into a basketball tournament (Alisha plays for Kilsyth Cobras). Alisha's team won 2 of 4 games and unfortunately didn't make the finals..... it was good practicve for them though!

Anyway... have made a few cards this afternoon (very quick ones) and thought I'd share then with you....

All three cards were made using stamp sets contained in Stampin' Up!'s Sale-A-Bration Catalogue. What's the Sale-A-Bration catalogue I hear you ask? It's your chance to earn FREE stamps from Stampin' Up!

I've just made a card for colour challenge posted in my team's forum... Art with Heart..... I had to use the colours Very Vanilla, Certainly Celery, Perfect Plum and Almost Amethyst. Here is my card......

Cardstock - Very Vanilla, Certainly Celery, Perfect Plum and Almost Amethyst.

Accessories - Stampin' Emboss - Clear, 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon in Very Vanilla, Stampin'Dimensionals, Certainly Celery Chalk.

A Flip Photo Card

Well... I hinted at another post so here it is......

This is the front page of a card.You pull the tab on the right and......

The scond page is exposed..........then pull tab further......

the third page......

the fourth page and then

finally the fifth and last page..........

There is room on each page of the card for photo's and/or journalling as desired.

The card was requested by a customer for a class..... she had seen something similar at a Scrapbook fair. I cannot remember exactly where in cyberspace I drew my inspiration. If I find the sites I visited and adapted then I'll ammend this post to include a link.

Anyway, a week or so ago I sat down with four lovely ladies and they made the card (took us quite a while but they were all very pleased with the end result). To make the card they used the following Stampin' Up! supplies:

Summer Mini Fun

I have been having a play with some of the product from the Summer Mini that was launched 2 days ago and thought I would show you the result of me staying up late last night (a 2am finish..... but I had fun..... didn't realise the time!)

This is what is affectionately known as a Tri Fold Shutter Card.

It's extremely easy to make and when folded, fit's into a standard size envelope.

A New Mini

A Christmas Card with Friends

Today I held an informal workshop at home with a few of my friends to show them what I am doing as an Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator. As I haven't posted for a while (where does the time go....) I thought I would show you the card that they made.

Everyone enjoyed making this card - they were very pleased (and maybe surprised) with the result.

Using Many Marvelous Markers

I had lots of fun playing with my Many Marvelous Markers when I got them. When creating the cards in today's post I have not used an ink pad. Rather, I used the markers to ink up only that portion of the stamp that I wanted to use, in the colours I wanted to use. (If you look at the candle in yesterday's post you will see the whole stamp that I used to create these cards).

This was so easy... and as the markers come in 48 colours (Bold Brights, Earth Elements, Rich Regals and Soft Subtles) you will have no problem finding the right colour ink for your project.

You will need the following Stampin' Up! supplies to create these these cards:

Stamp Set - Season of Joy
Ink - Real Red Marker, Old Olive Marker
DSP - Ski Slope (from the Spring Mini - only available until Nov 30th 2009)
Cardstock - Whisper White, Baja Breeze
Accessories - Dimensionals, 1 3.8" circle punch, 1 1/4" circle punch, scallop edge punch, 1/4" Real Red grosgrain ribbon

Not a Card.....

Here's a candle I've stamped (yes stamped.) on. I did this before I got my Many Marvelous Markers (see Idea Book & Catalogue page 127) so it's all the one colour. I'm going to have to go out now and buy another candle and do a more colourful version.

What have I been doing......

I haven't had a lot of time lately to "play" with my Stampin' Up product :( ...but I have a good reason.

I volunteer (a lot) of my time to JDRF - Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in Australia. My 12 year old daughter has TYPE 1 diabetes. I help raise funds for a cure by coordinating the Schools and Volunteer Network for Victoria and Tasmania for JDRF's annual May Jelly Baby Campaign.

We are in the process of approaching schools about the 2010 Campaign. It's very exciting as we are now approaching schools Australia wide. It's meant a bit of work for me..... sorting out who we are contacting and letters to be sent etc, but that's OK.... I really want to help find a cure. I can't imaging my beautiful little girl living with this horrible disease for the rest of her life.

Anyway.... I finished the first part of what I needed to do tonight.... so tomorrow I'll be back at my craft desk.

What to give as a Christmas Present.......?

I don't know about you but there is usually SOMEONE you have to buy for at Christmas (or birthdays for that matter) who you just don't know what to get. In these situations you may go for a Gift Card, which can seem a bit impersonal (even though you would buy an actual present if you knew what to get!)

Well, I know what you can do to make it "personal". Don't give the gift card in the holder that comes with it....... make your own and add that personal touch!

A Little Birdie Told Me....

I've had the use of a stamp set - "Cheep Talk" - for a week or so (thanks Claire!), and I thought I would see if I could make a number of cards and off the page (OTP) using the set before I had to send it "back home".
So below you will find three cards and a 2 OTP projects made using the "Cheep Talk" stamp set.

This card was made using the following Stampin' Up Supplies

Ink - Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink, Old Olive (should have used Kiwi Kiss but I don't own it yet!)

This OFP project is a cute little "pillow" box (which you could make whatever size you wished). The one I made could be used for a small gift. Made with a Christmas theme it would be perfect for a Chrismas present of a necklace or earings.

Cardstock - Summer Yellow, Pacific Point

It's Nearly Christmas.....

It's hard to believe that it's just over 8 weeks til Christmas. Have you got those Christmas cards made yet?

The "I Wish" Simply Scrappin' kit from Stampin' Up! makes putting together Christmas cards a breeze and/or you can use it to make some delightful Christmas pages for your scrapbook.

The Simply Scrappin' kit comes with 6 sheets of double sided 12 x 12 paper, 8 sheets of 12 x 12 TEXTURED card stock in the coordinating colours of Real Red, Whisper White, Old Olive and Chocolate Chip (2 of each colour) and 6 sheets of adhesive die cuts (there are 3 different die cut sheet designs and you receive 2 of each design). The pattern paper and die cuts are just so easy to work with!

Here are three Christmas cards I made using just the Simply Scrappin' kit - no stamping.

Regionals and a Card

On Saturday 17th October (1 week and 1 day after I joined SU! ) I attended the Melbourne Regional SU! Seminar in the city. There were heaps of people there, not only demonstrators but alos stamping enthusiasts.

We all received a stamp set from the coming Summer Mini Catalog which we used for our "Make and Takes" There were also demonstrations given by demonstrators (well done Sue and Angi) as well as talks on the business side of things.

It was a very exciting day and I came home with more ideas and, if it's at all possible, even more enthusiasm. I also came home with an extra stamp set as I won a door prize - YEAH!

Have my second card here for you to look at, using the tearing technique. Simple but quite effective I think, expecially given the SU! Designer Series Paper (DSP) I chose to use.

It arrived today when I got home from lunch with the girls (my starter kit!) I couldn't wait to open the box and get out all my goodies. Finally I was able to finish the card I started last night.... I was waiting for the ink pad and the "Thanks" stamp. Here it is - my first SU! card.

I was SO hoping to have my starter kit by now.... tomorrow... yes tomorrow it will be here (PLEASE Australia Post!)

It's not that I've been idling my time away though. I've been reading lots of SU information and playing around on this blog.... trying to get it right.

I have also booked to attend the Melbourne Regional SU! Seminar in Melbourne this Saturday. I'm VERY excited. We get a brand new stamp set from the new catalogue (I'm not sure when it's due out), which I imagine we will get to play with. There is product training and project presentations and I will get to meet lots of members of the team of which I am now a member myself - Art with Heart.

I started to make my very first SU! card today. I went to my upline's house and she gave me some supplies to get me going (thanks Claire!). I've been having a play with the georgous designer paper, cardstock and rhinestone brads. I'm just waiting on my stamp set and ink pads and then I'll finish it. Once it's done I'll post it here.

Must go - more tweaking of this blog to be done.

It begins.....

Well, this is my very first post in my stamping and papercraft blog. I hope you all bear with me as I work out how to set up my blog so that it's appealing and easy for you to navigate..... and I need to find a decent photo of myself... !

Last Friday I got my Stampin' Up! Demonstrator ID and over the weekend I have been scouring the Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Website and my Upline's Team Forum (Thanks Claire!). There is a wealth of information contained in both sites that will keep me going for ages. I have already touched bases with two team members who are helping me out with some paper and ribbon resources that I can use to show case the beautiful papers and ribbons that Stampin' Up! has to offer. (Thanks Sue & Lisa!).

I am hoping (with fingers crossed) that I receive my Starter Kit from Stampin' Up! today (it's around 1am on Monday morning). I'm just itching to get started and make some inspiring cards and papercraft creations which I can then post here. Hopefully they will get your creativity juices flowing.
