Welcome to Week 7 of the Art with Heart Colour Creations Showcase. This week is Cajun Craze.
I actually made this card some time ago with my stamping buddies, Marlene and Joy. It was suggested then that I do this card for Cajun Craze week. This is the original card:
I couldn't use this card as the DSP is now retired - but I could make my own! I also don't have the greeting and label punch so I improvised with what I did have. This is the card I made this week:
I used the large leaf from the Rooted in Nature stamp set. I randomly stamped the leaf in Cajun Craze and one of the new In Colors - Just Jade.
That took care of the large piece of DSP, but then I had to duplicate the smaller piece that the leaves are adhered to. So, I took a piece of Cajun Craze cardstock and embossed it with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder which I inked up with Cajun Craze ink to accentuate the horizontal lines.
I stamped other leaf images (also from the Rooted in Nature stamp set) in Just Jade, and one in Cajun Craze. These were then cut out using dies from Nature's Roots.
The greeting is from the Well Said stamp set and punched out using the Classic Label Punch. Does the label look longer than the punch? It should cause it is, using a very clever technique that you can use on most label punches.
And of course - the inside cannot be unadorned - so I did a bit of stamping in there too.

Thanks for taking the time to look at my Cajun Craze creation. I hope you can drop by next week.
